Gobo, the studio that helped develop Redfall and Hogwarts Legacy, will take over the Horizon universe

The Horizon franchise is becoming more and more extensive – two main games, a comic book series, and a clothing collection have already been released, while a VR branch, an MMORPG, and even a TV series are in production. Guerrilla Games alone can’t keep track of it all, so Studio Gobo joined the work on the universe.

The British studio announced this in a tweet. The company is recruiting employees who will work on the development of the Horizon series and other projects.

Studio Gobo was founded in 2011 and currently employs over 110 people. The company’s website says that previously it helped with the production of Redfall, Hogwarts Legacy, Disney Infinity and For Honor. In addition, Gamesindustry.biz included Studio Gobo several times in a row in the list of the best places to work in the UK among small studios.

It’s not yet known exactly what Studio Gobo will be helping with. In the past, Guerrilla Games has voiced plans for a new “epic single-player Eloi adventure,” and has also opened positions to produce an online game with a unique art style and new characters. Perhaps Studio Gobo will help with a threequel or that multiplayer project.

A spin-off series called Horizon Call of the Mountain will launch soon. It will be released simultaneously with the launch of PlayStation VR2 – February 22. And in April, The Burning Shores add-on for Horion Forbidden West will be released. While the sequel was released on both generations of PlayStation, the DLC will only land on PS5.
